Overview

Oversees daily operations of  Medical Oncology in coordination with all oncology services and is responsible for program development, selection of staff, development of policies, procedures and protocols, and education/competency of staff.  This position serves as a resource for and works closely with pharmacists,  laboratory personnel,  oncologists and midlevel providers to  assure well coordinated, oncology services.  This position is responsible for scheduling, budget and financial accountability, regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility and integration of continuous quality improvement activities and customer relations.  This includes establishing and reviewing metrics for efficient and effective clinic  operations in collaboration with the providers through standardizing office practices.  Provides coverage for Manager Radiation Oncology in his/her absence.  This position will assist with direct patient care as needed.

Responsibilities

Daily:

Department and procedural management of medical oncology, collaboration with other departments, Competencies and evaluations.

Administrative:

Budgets, schedules, vendor relations, supply chain, equipment review and budgeting, meetings.

Reporting:

QA, CQI, Statistical, Financial, Budgetary, Policy creation and administration, Protocol creation and administration.

Ancillary:

Assist with patient care, procedures, mentorship, staff education, support of other oncology sections.

Qualifications

 

  • BS/BA in a healthcare related field with business administration or healthcare administration or completion within 3 years.
  • RN licensure and Oncology certification preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty medical practice required.  Oncology preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in practice management required. 
  • Experience in implementation of electronic medical record required.
  • Knowledge of oncology related equipment preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical record and Microsoft Office programs of Word and Excel required.
