Oversees the daily operations of MR.  This includes employee scheduling, staffing, payroll, and employee management.  Additional responsibilities include protocol development, policy development and improvement, image quality control, PACS support, and patient satisfaction/service recovery.  Staff meetings, education, and communication between nursing and radiologists are also integral portions of the position.  Coordination of outpatient, inpatient, and emergency exams and schedules is done daily.  Responsibilities also include the increase in department efficiency through process improvement/evaluation.


  1. Protocol improvement, developement, and revision for MRI.
  2. Process improvement.
  3. Policy revision
  4. Policy development.
  5. Staffing and scheduling.
  6. Employee concerns/ coaching.
  7. Staff education
  8. Patient satisfaction/service recovery.
  9. PACS support and RIS support.
  10. Radiation safety.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
  12. Purchasing and vendor research/ relationships
  13. Quality assurance for MRI.
  14. MR imaging, post-processing.


  1. Associate Degree in Radiography required. A Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. State of NY Department of Health Radiologic Technolgost license preferred.
  3. American Registry of Radiology technologist - MRI Advanced Registry required.
  4. CPR and BLS required.
  5. State of NY Department of Health Radiologic Technologist with injection preferred.
  6. Equipment experience required:  MR scanner.  Medrad and Malinkrodt power injector.  Post processing equipment.  MRI safe pumps and monitoring equipment.  Contrast and IV starts.  All MR equipment.
  7. Computer experience required:  PACS, RIS, Transport Tracking, MR control equipment, Post-processing software, Syngo software.
