The Facilities Project Management Director manages construction projects from design through construction and close out; develops project scope, project budgets, and program statements; coordinates activities of the design team, including architects, engineers, and consultants throughout the design process; supports planning by participating in organizational master planning process and/or the individual project planning process; coordinates bid/award activities for construction contracts and manages the construction by hiring, directing and coordinating the activities of construction managers, general contractors, or multi-prime contractors; communicates and provides reports to senior management, promulgates progress and resolves issues as they arise; facilitates value engineering exercises and ensures the final product meets the requirements of the contract documents and the hospital design/construction standards; reviews and approves payments to design professionals, construction contractors and material/equipment vendors. The Facilities Project Management Director project responsibilities will include regulatory compliance projects, new construction, fit-out of shell spaces, renovation of existing spaces, and major maintenance of existing building and hospital infrastructure in a variety of locations. The Facilities Project Management Director will manage and track design and construction budgets inclusive of all minor and major equipment; coordinates startup of major utilities and equipment and the relocation of occupants into newly finished and existing spaces. General skills should demonstrate proficiency in work design, project management, financial planning and development of goals aligned with organizational strategic initiatives.


  1. Administration and management of both large and small capital projects to ensure that design and construction teams are meeting stated objectives of project with respect to cost, scope and timeline. Demonstrates consistent and effective application of Project Management principles/techniques.
  2. Prepares project charter, plans, RFPs, bid proposals, scope of work documents, and other documentation for projects.
  3. Introduces new ideas and methods to more efficiently manage projects; Provides effective, real time communication with design team, construction resources, and senior leadership on project progress, parameters and challenges.
  4. Ensures projects are designed, and built in conformance with current regulatory requirements. Represents the hospital to ensure code compliance is obtained to support the project. Ensures environmental and safety impacts are addressed in scope of new projects.   Ensures that once a project is commissioned, corresponding employee training and sign off for mechanical systems related to the project is complete and documented.
  5. Manages selection of design teams, construction contractors and related consultants and suppliers. Engages in regular meetings to support capital project schedules and needs.


  1. Bachelor's in Engineering or Project Management required.
  2. MBA or MHA preferred.
  3. Certified Health Facility Manager preferred.
  4. Certified Healthcare constructor preferred.
  5. Healthcare related project management experience preferred.
  6. Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
