  • Overview

    Responsible on a daily basis for the administration of clinical and technical services associated with the operation of Rehabilitation Services.  Responsible for the management of the Rehabilitation Services business line, ensuring that market poistion is maintianed  or improved through the utilization of sound business planning practices, implementation of cost control programs and  adherence to customer service process improvements.  The Regional Director of Rehabilitation Services will effectively facilitate collaboration between Rehab, inpatient nursing, physicians, peri-operative services, finanical services and other departments critical to care of rehab patients.


    This position also serves as the Regional Director of Rehabilitation Services of the Adirondack (Adk) Region.  In this capacity, the Regional Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the coordination of the Rehabilitation Services business line, quality, and financial initiatives of all Adk Region affiliates.


    Rehabilitation Services Operations

    • Responsible for the oversight of the delivery of care for Rehabilitation Services. Includes elements of clinical care as well as patient and employee satisfaction.
    • Provides direct oversight over Rehabilitation at outpatient facilities, acute care, sub-acute care and skilled nursing rehab.
    • Responsible for meeting regulatory guidelines established by the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and Joint Commission. Also responsible for maintaining compliance for accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for multiple entities.

    Financial Management

    • Responsible for the Rehabilitation Services revenue budget of $8,000,000. Develops strategies to improve number of referrals, contribution margin, cost per unit/procedure, and reimbursement.

    Service Management and Strategic Planning  

    • Responsible for the establishing goals and providing direction team members to achieve those goals
    • Collaborates with appropriate members of the Rehabilitation Services team to establish quality measures for the program.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing initiatives that attract patients from a larger catchment area. This includes addressing access, staffing, physical plant, and marketing.  Addresses patient and referring physician experience.
    • Establish a capital budget plan, in coordination with Administration and Facilities Planning, for the purpose of building state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities in order to accommodate the growth of the business as well as provide optimal rehabilitation services for our patients, our people, and our community.

    Regional Rehabilitation Services

    • Meets routinely with affiliate President or designee to discuss local operations, finance, and strategy.
    • Responsible for developing a long-range financial plan to maximize the growth of the Rehabilitation Services business line for Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) and Adk Region. Monitor revenue to sustain the ongoing initiatives.
    • Works closely with the Adk Region affiliates to develop and plan capital allocations across the Adk Region for Rehabilitation Services. Reviewing the business and needs of each community, focusing on revenue and patient/customer service needs.
    • Responsible to affiliate leadership to monitor revenue and volumes of rehabilitation services in collaboration with the onsite rehab leaders.
    • Responsible for being conversant with all Rehabilitation Services regulations (State, Federal, CARF, NYS DOH, and Joint Commission).  Ensuring each affiliate meets all regulations and remains survey ready.


    1. Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.
    2. 3-5 years of management experience in rehabilitation services with experience overseeing multiple site locations required.
    3. Experience with all modalities of rehabilitation services required.
    4. Well versed in various applications to include Microsoft (MS) Office products and clinical documentation systems required.
