Environmental Service Worker (Cleaner)

This position is located at Our Partner Location, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, NY and is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

The Environmental Service Workers are responsible for making the hospital a safe and clean place for our patients, people, and community.

Waste Management and Recycling

• Provides for Hospital waste management and recycling.

Support, Public and Office Areas

• Maintains clean and sanitary conditions in all support, public and office areas.

Additional Cleaning

• Identifies additional cleaning needed utilizing the department work orders.
• Tools / Equipment/Chemicals
• Demonstrates the ability to safely maintain and utilize all tools/equipment/chemicals required to accomplish daily assignments.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Demonstrates the ability to safely use the appropriate attire (PPE) when given the task at hand.

Technology

• Utilizes technology appropriately per job specific duties.

Importance of ES role

• Effectively communicates to patients, visitors and peers the importance of ES role maintaining clean, functional spaces and protecting the environment from infection.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Information:

• Salary Range: $15.69/hr- $21.87/hr 
• Salary Based on Experience

Sign-On Bonus:

• $5,000 for 2 year committment, prorated for part-time

1. High School diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
2. Related experience in cleaning is desirable.
3. Ability to read and write well is required.
4. Ability to do basic math to understand the mixing of chemicals is necessary.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
