Min Rate = $35.43 / Max Rate = $52.44. *Placement is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Units Agreement.   The Ambulatory Surgery Center RN is responsible for the delivery of wellness based, customer friendly ambulatory surgery care to patients using the nursing process.  This RN assures a coordinated ambulatory surgery experience for patients before, during and after surgical/invasive procedures.  This RN is responsible for care related activities of support personnel.  This RN is accountable to meet the unique demands of a fast paced, competitive outpatient surgery environment meeting quality outcomes in an economically viable and customer friendly way.  The focus of patient care will encompass pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure patient monitoring and physician assistance, post procedure critical evaluation, anticipation and prevention of complications, effective pain management, and patient/family education.  This RN maintains standards of professional nursing practice.    The Ambulatory Surgery RN is responsible for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process of patients undergoing surgical, endoscopic or radiologic procedures.  The Ambulatory Surgery RN directs and guides the delivery of care during procedures, patient/family education and all care related activities while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.  The Ambulatory Surgery Center RN is familiar with all instruments, scopes, supplies and equipment used during specific procedures.   The Ambulatory Surgery RN who is Phase I competent is critically care trained and is responsible for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process of patients post anesthesia who require Phase I recovery and will transition patients to Phase II recovery level.  All of the Ambulatory Surgery RNs are trained in the Phase II care of patients.   The Perioperative Services Float RN will become competent in two of the three areas of Perioperative Services:  Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.   The main position will be the one located on the nurse’s P5 and the nurse will only be scheduled call in the main position area (e.g. Perioperative Services Float – Pre/PACU will only be scheduld Pre/PACU call).   The Periop Services Float RN will become completely oriented to their main position and will also learn basic skills of one of the other areas of Periop. The skill set of each additional area will follow the position specific contributions. All nurses of Periop Services will be competent in the basic skills of one other area within six (6) months of completion of the main area of orientation.
