The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner practices under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director of Cardiology, demonstrates competency and efficiency in the care of the cardiology patient. This position demonstrates competency in assessing, diagnosing and treating the cardiology patient in accordance with delineation of privileges; Demonstrates “strong” ability to organize and prioritize patient care activities; Selects and interprets laboratory and diagnostic testing; Communicates medical assessment and plan to patient and attending physician; Completes medical record documentation in a timely manner; and assumes on call and rotation schedule as required. The primary responsibilities will be hospital based or office based to include discharges, admissions, non-invasive testing and daily rounding with all cardiology physician groups.
The In/Outpatient Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of a pharmacist in either the inpatient or the retail pharmacy as assigned. In the inpatient pharmacy, responsibilities include dispensing and order filling, inventory controls, IV admixtures, and prepackaging. The retail pharmacy technician will assist with order entry, filling, inventory control, insurance issues, reporting, and operating the cash register.
The Radiology Technologist Aide (RTA) is a crucial piece of the Radiology workflow, encompassing multiple areas within the Radiology department. The Radiology Technologist Aide is responsible for the clerical duties within the file room such as answering and directing phone calls appropriately, pushing images as necessary to outside hospitals, organizing necessary patient paperwork, performing PACS exceptions, and more. The RTA also acts as the liaison between the patient, doctor and staff for several different communication needs with emphasis on strong interpersonal skills as the face of the radiology department. The RTA also serves as a clinical resource assistant to the CT and MRI techs whom they work alongside. The RTA assists in moving, positioning and transporting patients as necessary.

The Human Resources Assistant provides receptionist services for the Human Resources Department for internal and external customers in person or on the phone and provides administrative support to Human Resources. Is responsible for the Human Resources filing and maintaining employee files. The Human Resources Assistant primarily supports the recruitment, compensation and benefits areas with various functions and tasks.
Assists the section Supervisor in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests and assuming assigned administrative functions. Supports Laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions and results reporting and verification. Coordinates Laboratory section training and inservice programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added. Social Worker will work with insurance agencies / funding sources to verify benefits and obtain any authorizations needed for required services
The Care Manger position is an integral part of the healthcare team working closely coordinating inpatient and outpatient care and services across the continuum of care assuring and including Primary care and Specialty providers. The Care Manager utilizes his/her skills to coordinate internal and external resources to facilitate appropriate resource management of an age specific patient population which spans from newborns to geriatrics, identifying opportunities for process improvement, high risk cases and sentinel events, to the achievement of an acceptable outcome. Oversees the daily operations of Radiation Oncology which includes but not limited to oversight of patient scheduling, staff scheduling, budgeting, radiation safety in collaboration with Medical Physicist, physician relations, program development, equipment management, quality and process improvement initiatives. This position works with other oncology services and physician offices to assure well-coordinated, quality radiation oncology services. This position is responsible for scheduling, budget and financial accountability, integration of continuous quality improvement activities and customer relations. This position also has the key responsibility to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory standards for Radiation Oncology. Provides management coverage for other oncology managers during absences. This position will assist with direct patient care as needed.
Certification levels for Histology Technician and Histotechnologist are hierarchal and it is assumed that the technologist level encompasses knowledge and skills of the preceding technician level. The Technologist has a general comprehension of the many factors that affect health and disease, and recognizes the importance of proper test selection, the numerous causes of discrepant test results (patient and laboratory), deviations of test results, and ethics including result confidentiality. The Technologist is responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing, to include embedding, microtomy, mounting and staining. They will perform routine histology, as well as reagent preparation, special staining and immunohistochemical staining. The individual should have an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing as well as the technical, procedural, and problem solving aspects.
Under the direction of the Medical Staff Recruitment Director the Medical Staff Onboarding Coordinator will be the main point of contact for newly recruited medical staff members, locums and staff from network affiliates who will be working at CVPH and AHMC.The Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for the management and oversight of the medical staff onboarding and off boarding processes. The Coordinator provides concierge-level service to our medical staff, to guide them through the required onboarding processes from offer acceptance to start date, including but not limited to tracking Medical Staff credentialing, pre-employment HR requirements, operational readiness, and relocation support. In addition this individual will provide administrative support in the functional areas of the department. Will build strong relationships and efficiently communicate with all levels of staff within CVPH, AHMC, as well as Network and external stakeholders.

This position has responsibility for Alice Hyde Medical Center and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
In general, the Director of Budget & Reimbursement is responsible for two key components of financial management. The first is to manage the development of the annual operating budget for CVPH Medical Center (CVPH) & Alice Hyde Medical Center (AHMC). The second is to oversee both CVPH and AHMC revenue reporting and third party and government payor reimbursement functions which includes – but not limited to:
- Prepare the appropriate templates to develop the budget by all concerned departments.
- Comply with the network approved process of budgeting regarding the deadlines and the management of the budgeting process.
- Partner with department leaders across the organization to critically examine budget submissions for correctness, accuracy and completeness; and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
- Consolidate the information and suggest suitable amendments in the budget to the executive leadership team.
- Analyze actual results to budgets and forecasts and drive the discussion to address variances with leadership.
- Manage the preparation of all Institutional Cost Reports including filing, audits and appeals. Leverage internal and external resources to optimize the reimbursement positions taken by CVPH and AHMC.
- Oversee and implement where appropriate any changes driven by Federal or State government regulatory payment changes. Coordinate with UVMHN colleagues to keep abreast of these issues.
- Oversee monthly accounts receivable net revenue valuations.
- Revenue cycle performance reporting and analysis.
- Oversee Charge Description Master (CDM) maintenance and compliance.
- Participate in the development of pricing strategies and implementing those strategies.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis related to the operations of both CVPH and AHMC.
The Student Nurse Extern participates in the planning and implementation of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Student Nurse Extern will be partnered with an experienced nurse mentor, and continue to build on skills needed to integrate into the health care culture. In addition, Student Nurse Externs will be expected to experience hand-off of care, inter-professional communication, multidisciplinary rounds, basic documentation, safe administration of medication and other specific roles and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse.
This program is available to SUNY Plattsburgh and Clinton Community College senior nursing students.
