Facilities Engineer provides engineering oversight, design review and commissioning oversight for facilities projects. Has responsibility for organizing, maintaining and updating the facilities database including plans/blueprints, specifications and general information (including staff training) relating to the physical plant. Creates and /or reviews preventive maintenance documentation to maintain regulatory compliance and to assure quality control and quality improvement processes are in place. Provides management coverage for Director of Facilities. Responsible for coordinating the use of facility resources
with appropriate manager and directing such resources accordingly. Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures that would have impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change. Provides engineering feedback for project scope development and project design
A Patient Safety Assistant monitors assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Patient Safety Assistant provides constant observation to patients who may be in danger of harming themselves or acting in an unsafe manner. Patient Safety Assistants offer hands on in the moment assistance to the patient and other staff members when needed. It is critical that Patient Safety Assistants provide timely and accurate communication, documentation and maintain a harmonious, team oriented, customer friendly environment. Patient Safety Assistants must be able to function competently in a computerized medical setting.
The Staff Physicist is responsible for the radiation physics requirements of CVPH according to the NYS Department of Health 10 NYCRR 16 and ACR requirements. The Staff Physicist functions as the Radiation Safety Officer and develops/maintains the Radiation Safety Program. The Staff Physicist is responsible for participation in the clinical aspects of external radiation therapy and brachytherapy, monitoring and calibration of radiation therapy treatment equipment, and oversight of the quality control program for radiation producing equipment according to ACR, NYSDOH and The Joint Commission requirements. The Staff Physicist participates in the design of the radiation therapy facility and commissions linear accelerators, treatment planning computers and other radiation producing equipment. The physicist participates in establishing and monitoring the record and verify systems for Radiation Therapy. Directly supervises the technical staff and clinical function of the section of Radiation Oncology. Collaborates with the Director of Oncology Services to meet the established goals related to budget, staffing, regulatory agency requirements as well as staff, patient and physician satisfaction.

Under the direction of the Practice Supervisor, the Patient Access Team Representative (PATR) will interview and collect patient demographic, and record it into the practice's EMR information system. The PATR is also responsible for distributing required patient information in a confidential manner, scheduling the appropriate tests, follow up appointments, monitoring provider schedules, answering telephones and documentation in the EMR, ordering inventory and communicating with ancillary and clinical departments when necessary. The PATR will manage all referrals to specialty practices and obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies. PATR will work with insurance companies to maintain a working knowledge of changing insurance requirements; and update patient insurance info as verified.
The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to learn about different areas of medicine, is agile and adaptive with change and learning new things daily, someone who is organized, reliable, dedicated to customer service, and also thrives on being part of a fast-paced team. The OR/Anesthesia Support Assistant performs various duties, as directed, for the direct and indirect care of the surgical patient and/or patients receiving anesthesia. She/He is responsible to provide support and assistance to direct care staff. The OR/Anesthesia Support Assistant is also responsible for cleaning, stocking, organizing the OR rooms to include the anesthesia areas, scrub rooms, storage areas, break rooms, and outer corridor throughout the day. She/He must be reliable, work independently, be highly organized, capable of anticipating where assistance is needed, and work well in the surgical environment. Under the general supervision of the Manager, HIM (Coding) and following established hospital and Department policies and procedures, a Coder Level II will apply ICD-10 CM diagnostic and procedure codes as well as CPT procedure and Evaluation and Management codes to outpatient Emergency Care Center/Fast Track accounts. A Coder Level II will also be proficient in at least one other area of outpatient coding (ex. Ancillary Services, Clinics, OB-GYN, Medical Necessity, SNF).
The Financial Advocate, in the interest of price transparency and patient satisfaction, will identify all patient out of pocket costs for all scheduled patients and will meet with them before the schedule test/procedure to convey the information and identify payment sources and establish payment arrangements. The financial advocate will also be available to any unscheduled patients who are in need of assistance in finding funding sources for their healthcare services. They will be certified application counselors for the Healthcare marketplace.

The PSG Technologist is a senior level polysomnographic position that performs sleep studies on all age groups. The position requires maintenance of all Tech I standards in addition to higher level responsibility with scoring and operation needs.

The Clerk III performs designated tasks related to the support operations of the Rehabilitation Department. Such activities may include setting up treatment areas, maintaining treatment areas, preparing and cleaning equipment, clerical support tasks, general department cleaning and organizing for a safe environment and assisting therapy staff and patients in preparation for treatment. The Clerk III is able to independently and accurately enter charges, schedule patients, and receive co-pays. Duties also include back-filling occasionally for the person entering charges and working the error work list. The Clerk III’s primary responsibility is to work at the front desk at the outpatient clinics
An LPN/Operating Room Technician (LPN/ORT) is a member of the surgical team who acts as a primary scrub person and must be technically adept by handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary before, during and after the surgical procedure. LPN/ORTs are required to perform all cases that surgeons perform. He/She may also circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN/ORT must be able to take call as scheduled, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, have excellent adaptation and coping skills, have excellent organizational skills and be a team player. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift patient and equipment with assistance of other personnel or without as need dictates. LPN/ORT must have excellent communication skills and maintains asepsis at all times. Must be able to serve as a resource person for certain specialties. Will assist directly with the orientation, training and serve as a mentor for new LPN/ORTs. Must be able to work closely with RNs in room and management about instrumentation and equipment for cases. Also will assist in education of all LPN/ORTs. LPN/ORTs will work primarily at CVPH main campus with assignments to Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The LPN/ORT can assist the Pre-op and Post-op areas by performing various duties under direction of unit director/manager or registered nurse. The LPN/ORT can assist in treatment and care of patients, collect blood and other patient samples, perform ECGs and assist in receptionist/clerical activities.
During this program, the student nurse will commit to completing their Senior Practicum on a designated floor. Upon successful completion of the Senior Practicum, and after passing the NCLEX and becoming licensed as an RN in the state of New York, the student will transition into a Registered Nurse I role.

They are responsible to manage patient flow while supporting physician (s) to ensure efficient use of their time and minimize patient wait time. Graduate Nurses are employed on our 3 Medical Surgical Units, in our Resource Pool, and on Progressive Care.
