Completes medically prescribed rehabilitation therapy, evaluates, plans and implements treatment program, and reassesses patient status as indicated to restore function and/or maximize ability following disease or disability. Provides mentorship and education/in-servicing to less experienced therapists (minimum of one in-service per year). Assists therapy staff in daily operations, i.e., prioritizing patient caseload, utilizing support personnel, assists the department with program development and physician relationships, etc.
Assists the Laboratory Supervisor in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests. Supports laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions, and results reporting and verification. Participates in training and in-service programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added.
Performs diagnostic ultrasounds on patients as ordered by a licensed provider, in an ethical and professional manner. Assists in all aspects of Radiology Ultrasound.
Each staff pharmacist is responsible for the preparation and dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical supplies for patients of the CVPH outpatient pharmacy.
Security is responsible for providing services that contribute to the preservation of life, protection of property and overall safety of the Medical Center community.
The primary function includes proection of staff, patients and the general public by;
- Preventing and deterring crime through aggressive patrol activity
- Providing education to staff, patients and visitors to reduce the likelihood of becoming victims
- Conducting appropriate, thorough and efficient investigations of any/all inappropriate activity
Security provides assistance in all areas of the Medical Center, offering support in all patient care areas by assisting medical personnel in the maintenance and delivery of care to our patients and assistant to family members.
All Security staff is required to be available for variable shifts, roations or short notice call for emergency response.
Registered Respiratory Therapists deliver both routine and critical care services for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory dysfunction, including, but not limited to oxygen and aerosol therapy, respiratory care treatments, pulmonary diagnostic procedures, airway management, ventilator management, patient assessment and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The Registered Respiratory Therapist works independently in all areas of the hospital. They take an active role in planning departmental operations as needed.
Registered Respiratory Therapists provide the practice of the profession of respiratory therapy, which is undertaken pursuant to the direction of a duly licensed physician. This is defined as the performance of Cardio-Pulmonary evaluation, respiratory therapy treatment techniques, and education of the patient, family and public. Registered respiratory therapists may supervise respiratory therapy technicians and respiratory students in the practice of the profession. They take a decision-making role in planning patient care assignments, developing department direction and overseeing operations with recommendations provided.
Responsible for billing and collecting inpatient and outpatient accounts according to established policy and procedure. In addition, is responsible for accurately maintaining account balances on a daily basis, as well as staying current with constantly changing rules and regulations in order to ensure prompt collection of monies due the Medical Center.
Skilled Nursing Facility Certified Nurse Aides work with our residents on SNF.
The Certified Nurse Aide provides direct care to residents to include resident hygiene and activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Certified Nurse Aide performs those direct care activities which are allowed to be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the NYS Practice Act, regulations, hospital policies, New York State Long Term Care regulations and standards met by Nursing Services. The Certified Nurse Aide also performs support functions for the unit/department as assigned by the appropriate Registered Nurse and/or manager.
Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers; in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operation.
The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the management of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate, and all care related activities, while maintaining standards of professional nursing collaborating with other disciplines as appropriate.

Healthcare Access Associates (Patient Registration) work within different departments onsite at the hospital and at offsite locations. Healthcare Access Associates assist patients by gathering information and inputting that information into the hospitals information systems.
Mental Health Techs work on our inpatient Adult Psychiatry unit, our Child/Adolescent Psychiatry unit, and the Behavioral Decision Unit in the Emergency Care Center.
Operating Room Technicians are members of our surgical team who assist the surgeons in the Operating Room and work in collaboration with the Perioperative Team.
Licensed Practical Nurses have opportunities to work inpatient in Med-Surg, Dialysis, outpatient through medical offices that are a part of Medical Group Management (MGM), and as OR Technicians.
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, in accordance with the NYS Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and the standards set by Nursing Services and the Nursing Practice Council.
Psychiatry Registered Nurses work on our Adult Mental Health Unit and on our Child/Adolescent Mental Health Unit.

Nutrition Service Workers are responsible for preparing & delivering meals to the patients in a timely manner, as well as providing quality customer service to our patients.
Pre-hospital: The AEMT (Critical Care) functions as defined by New York State Department of Health, EmergencyMedical Services certification standards. Performs all duties as outlined by local Medical Control Protocols.
Hospital: The AEMT (Critical Care) performs various duties as outlined in the Job Description, and assists staff nurses and physicians in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Medical Center. All ambulance calls will take priority over the assignment.
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses work on our 3 Med-Surg Units and in our Resource Pool.

The patient care team on Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care inpatient units consists of a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Clinical Assistant (CA). CAs are an integral part of hands-on patient care. Working under the direction and supervision of a RN, they are responsible for taking and recording vital signs, performing designated tests and collecting patient samples, and supporting patients in all activities of daily living. CAs meet patients and their families as they enter the unit, welcoming and acclimating them to the unit. CAs interact with unit staff, physicians, and other hospital department personel. It is critical that CAs provide timely and accurate communication, accurate documentation and maintain a harmonious, team oriented, customer friendly environment. CAs must be able to function competently in a computerized medical setting.
The Environmental Service Workers are responsible for making the hospital a safe and clean place for our patients, people, and community.
