Assists the section Supervisor in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests and assuming assigned administrative functions. Supports Laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions and results reporting and verification. Coordinates Laboratory section training and inservice programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added. Functions as quality assurance / quality control coordinator as requested. Writes policies and procedures as requested. Assists the laboratory Supervisor in evaluating additions to the test menu and performing required validation studies.
Certification levels for Histology Technician and Histotechnologist are hierarchal and it is assumed that the technologist level encompasses knowledge and skills of the preceding technician level. The Technologist has a general comprehension of the many factors that affect health and disease, and recognizes the importance of proper test selection, the numerous causes of discrepant test results (patient and laboratory), deviations of test results, and ethics including result confidentiality. The Technologist is responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing, to include embedding, microtomy, mounting and staining. They will perform routine histology, as well as reagent preparation, special staining and immunohistochemical staining. The individual should have an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing as well as the technical, procedural, and problem solving aspects.
The Medical Assistant works under the general supervision of the Practice Coordinator and clinical supervision of the physician, advanced practice provider or licensed nursing staff to deliver excellent patient care. Job duties include basic clinical tasks, working with patients and assisting the other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and high quality care to the patient. The Medical Assistant performs such duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This position is eligible for a $4,000 sign on bonus with a 2yr commitment.

The Gastroenterology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner shall assist and supplement the Gastroenterologist Physician staff by rounding on inpatients to assess, diagnose, and treat patients as enabled by their training and experience under the supervision and support of the Gastroenterologist Physician. These responsibilities will include caring for Gastroenterology inpatients, responding to calls from the nursing staff, assessing changes in condition, responding to changes in condition, ordering tests and images, interpreting tests and images, and ordering medications. The Gastroenterology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will also prepare discharges of patients and will prepare appropriate prescriptions, prepare discharge summaries, arrange follow up appointments and educate patients and families.
This position is responsible for the repair, PM, QA, installation, modification and technical advice for all Radiologic, Laboratory, MRI, Ultrasound equipment, as well as other clinical and non-clinical equipment as assigned by the Manager of Clinical Engineering. This position is also responsible for implementation and maintaining the Medical Equipment Management Plan in accordance with JCAHO requirements.

The Clinical Assistant will perform various duties under the supervision and/or direction of a Department or Assistant Nurse Manage depending on area of assignment. The three principal duties of this position are:
Clerical/Patient Registration: Performs; receptionist duties, unit clerk laboratory duties, or patient registration duties; functions as the center of communication for areas assigned.
Technician: Operates an Electrocardiograph machine to record electromotive variations and impulses of the heart for use in the diagnosis of heart disorder
Phlebotomist: Collects blood and other patient samples from Emergency Department patient population.
A Clinical Assistant – II functions in all three of the areas listed above and maintains associated competencies.
Provides the essential direct link between the patient and testing service both in providing interpersonal contact and technical competence in obtaining appropriate patient samples. Performs other technical skills as trained.
